Yes, as more and more companies are outsourcing (and looking overseas for their parts) you will find more and more brands that you have not heard of. (One of my favorites is the All American sounding "Zhongshon Broad-Ocean" motors). GE Genteq is one of, if not the, best capacitors on the market, and much better than the overseas equivalents. That said, the difference is in durability and life rather than operational quality. Unfortunately, the capacitor cannot make your unit pull more electric, and if you are doing so, it sounds as though you have another problem. Being borderline low on freon is one of the simplest reasons, but there are many more. (Just comeing through the hottest month in recorded history is another one!).
Sorry I cannt pinpoint exactly what is going on with your unit, but rest assured, it is not your capacitors fault
